LunoFOX ("we", "us", or "our") is a legal intelligence platform built for Nigerian lawyers and law firms. We take privacy seriously; particularly because the nature of legal work means the data you share with us may include sensitive client information, privileged communications, and confidential legal matters.

This Privacy Policy governs how we collect, process, store, and protect your personal data when you use the LunoFOX platform, mobile application, or any related services. By using LunoFOX, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to deliver and improve our legal intelligence services. This includes:

• Account information; your name, email address, professional role, and law firm affiliation when you register.
• Research queries; the legal questions, statutes, case names, and contract text you submit to the platform.
• Uploaded documents; contracts, agreements, or legal briefs you submit for review or analysis.
• Usage data; how you interact with the platform, features used, session duration, and search history within LunoFOX.
• Device and technical data; IP address, device type, operating system, and app version for security and performance purposes.
• Firm data; if you are a firm administrator, organisational details including firm name, user roster, and billing information.

We do not collect data beyond what is necessary to deliver our services.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to operate, improve, and secure the LunoFOX platform. Specifically:

• To process your legal research queries and return citation-backed responses.
• To analyse documents you submit and generate structured legal insights.
• To personalise your experience based on your practice area and firm settings.
• To maintain the security and integrity of the platform.
• To communicate platform updates, new features, and service notices.
• To improve our AI models and knowledge base; using anonymised, aggregated data only.

Legal Data & Confidentiality

We understand that lawyers operate under strict professional obligations of confidentiality under the Rules of Professional Conduct for Legal Practitioners in Nigeria. We have designed LunoFOX with this in mind.

• Documents and queries submitted to LunoFOX are treated as confidential by default.
• Matter-level data is isolated per firm; no data from one firm is accessible to another.
• LunoFOX employees do not read or access your legal documents or research queries except where required to resolve a technical issue, and only with your explicit consent or under legal compulsion.
• We are not a party to any lawyer-client relationship. Information shared with LunoFOX does not constitute a waiver of privilege.

Law firms are encouraged to review their own professional obligations before uploading client-specific materials to any AI platform, including LunoFOX.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share limited data only in the following circumstances:

• Service providers; trusted infrastructure partners (cloud hosting, analytics, email delivery) who process data strictly on our behalf under data processing agreements.
• Law enforcement; where required by Nigerian law or a valid court order. We will notify you where legally permitted to do so.
• Business transfers; in the event of a merger or acquisition, your data may transfer to a successor entity. We will notify you before this occurs.

All third-party service providers are contractually bound to process your data only as necessary and to maintain appropriate security standards.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

• Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for all stored data.
• Role-based access controls limiting internal access to your data.
• Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Isolated data environments per law firm; your firm's data is not co-mingled with others.

No digital system is completely immune to risk. We encourage users to use strong passwords, enable any available two-factor authentication, and report suspected security issues to security@lunofox.com immediately.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Specifically:

• Account data is retained while your account remains active and for 90 days after deletion to allow for recovery.
• Research query history is retained for platform functionality and can be deleted on request.
• Uploaded documents are retained until you delete them or close your account.
• Anonymised usage data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes.

You may request deletion of your data at any time. See Section 8 for how to exercise this right.

Your Rights

As a user of LunoFOX, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access; request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction; request that inaccurate or incomplete data be corrected.
• Deletion; request that your personal data be deleted, subject to legal retention obligations.
• Portability; request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Objection; object to processing of your data for specific purposes.
• Withdrawal of consent; where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

Cookies

The LunoFOX web platform uses cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and understand how the platform is used. We use:

• Essential cookies; required for the platform to function. Cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies; help us understand usage patterns to improve the platform. These are anonymised.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.

Policy Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to our practices, platform features, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Notify registered users via email or an in-app notice.
• Where required by law, seek your renewed consent.

Continued use of LunoFOX after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
